Alarm+ Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 21st, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Alarm+ ("the App," "we," "us")
handles information when you use the App. We built this app to work primarily
on your device, and we've tried to write this policy in plain language rather
than dense legal text.
The short version
Almost everything the App does — your alarms, sleep checklist, notes, and
settings — is stored only on your device. We do not operate a server that
collects or stores this information, we do not require an account, and we do
not sell your data. The main exception is that the App may display
advertising through Google AdMob, which is covered in detail below.
Information stored on your device
The App stores the following locally, using standard Android app storage:
- Alarms you create, including times, labels, sounds, and challenge settings
- Sleep Journal entries: checklist items and their completion state, notes, and wake-up history
- App preferences, such as snooze settings and whether you've unlocked ad-free time
- Reference photos you take for the optional Photo dismiss challenge, and the code value registered for the optional QR/Barcode dismiss challenge
None of this information is transmitted to us or to any server we control.
If you uninstall the App, this data is deleted along with it. You can also
clear it at any time via Android's Settings > Apps > Alarm+ > Storage > Clear Data.
Permissions the App requests, and why
- Notifications — to show alarm, sleep timer, and reminder notifications.
- Exact alarms / "Alarms & reminders" — required by Android for an alarm clock app to ring at a precise, chosen time.
- Display over other apps / full-screen notifications — so an alarm can wake your screen and appear even if your phone is locked.
- Camera — used only if you choose to set up a QR/Barcode or Photo dismiss challenge on an alarm. Photos taken for this feature are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded anywhere.
- Ignore battery optimizations — requested so Android doesn't delay or block your alarms from firing on time.
The App does not request access to your contacts, location, call logs, or
messages, and does not use any of these permissions for tracking or
advertising purposes.
Advertising
The App may display or offer advertisements, including rewarded video ads
that let you unlock temporary ad-free time, served through
Google AdMob. If ads are shown:
- Google AdMob may collect information such as your device's advertising ID, general device information, and approximate location (derived from IP address) in order to serve and measure ads, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
- We do not control what data AdMob or its partner ad networks collect, and this Privacy Policy does not cover their practices — we encourage you to review Google's policy directly.
- Where required by applicable law (for example, in the EEA/UK), you will be shown a consent prompt before any personalized advertising is enabled, and you can decline or adjust your choice.
Data we do not collect
- We do not require you to create an account or provide your name, email, or any personal identifier to use the App.
- We do not operate analytics, crash reporting, or tracking services that collect your usage data.
- We do not sell personal information to anyone, for any purpose.
Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from children. Because the App does not
collect personal information from any user in the first place (aside from
what an ad SDK may collect, as described above), this risk is inherently
limited — but if you believe a child has provided us information in a way
that concerns you, please contact us using the details below.
Your choices
- You can clear all data the App has stored at any time via Android's app settings, or by uninstalling the App.
- You can decline personalized advertising where a consent prompt is shown, or opt out of interest-based ads generally via your device's Google Settings > Ads.
- You can deny or later revoke the Camera permission in Android Settings; doing so only disables the optional QR/Photo dismiss challenges and does not affect the rest of the App.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated"
date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you
accept the revised policy.
